Description
The City of Fort Smith is soliciting bids from qualified, City-licensed demolition firms for demolition and disposal of the designated substandard structure at 713 Hillside Drive, Lot 52, Parcel 16351-0052-00000-00. The scope includes removal of residential and miscellaneous structures, foundations, footings, slabs, asphalt pavement, walkways, debris, landscaping, dead trees, septic systems when applicable, and abandoned utility lines; asbestos removal in accordance with Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality requirements; hauling and disposal at an approved landfill; and filling, compacting, grading, and drainage restoration. The contractor must inspect the site, obtain required permits, comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, protect adjacent property and public areas, and complete the work within 30 days after notification to commence. The bid must be submitted on the official City bid document, with the required information completed and an original signature, in a sealed envelope. The City requires a demolition bond after award, insurance including commercial general liability, automobile liability, workers' compensation/employers' liability when applicable, and professional errors and omissions coverage when applicable. Past performance with the City may affect responsibility, and a 5% local purchasing preference applies to local companies. The solicitation is identified as Demolition Bid No. 10-23-419AA.
