Description
The City of Fort Smith is soliciting bids from qualified, city-licensed demolition firms to demolish designated substandard and condemned structures. The work includes removing buildings, outbuildings, foundations, footings, slabs, pavement, walkways, landscaping, debris, septic systems when applicable, and other undesirable objects; disconnecting and capping utilities; removing and disposing of asbestos in accordance with applicable requirements; filling and compacting voids; grading sites; and cleaning up all resulting materials. The identified work includes a property at 315 South 14th Street, with additional properties identified in the ordinance. The contractor must provide all labor, equipment, materials, transportation, disposal, permits, and incidental costs, and must complete the work within 30 days after notification to commence demolition. Bidders must be registered with the City and listed as approved demolition contractors. The bid must be submitted on the official City bid document, including the required original signature and workers' non-citizen compliance certification. The successful contractor must furnish the required demolition bond after award. Insurance requirements include commercial general liability, automobile liability, workers' compensation/employers' liability when applicable, and professional errors and omissions coverage when applicable, generally with $1 million limits and the City named as an additional insured.
