Description
The project requires demolition of Bunting Bearings Plant #3 and two associated baghouses at 200 Van Buren Street, including HEPA vacuuming to control lead-contaminated dust, asbestos abatement, hazardous-materials removal, utility disconnection coordination, structural demolition to the slab, off-property disposal of debris and hazardous materials, backfilling and grading, and grass seeding. Identified asbestos-containing materials include linoleum, transite countertops, pipe wrap, and pipe fittings. The contractor must also address potentially hazardous equipment and materials such as CFC-containing equipment, HVAC systems, PCB-containing light ballasts, mercury-containing items, e-waste, transformers, and containerized chemicals. The solicitation requires an Ohio-registered demolition contractor, a mandatory site walkthrough, Davis-Bacon prevailing wages, permits and regulatory notifications, approved subcontractors, and a proposed schedule. Bidders must submit the prescribed bid forms and required certifications, a 100% bid bond, surety documentation, certificate of compliance from the surety, power of attorney for the bond signer, certificate of liability insurance, and other forms identified in Section 4. The work must be completed by May 30, 2027; payment and performance bonds are required after award, and the contract limits self-performance subcontracting to no less than 50% of total contract cost.
