Description
Horizon Science Academy New Bedford is soliciting competitive proposals for a high-speed, synchronous Category 1 broadband connection to one school site. Vendors may propose leased lit fiber, leased dark fiber, or a self-provisioned, applicant-owned network, with service capable of 1 Gbps and scalable to 10 Gbps. The scope includes approximately 400 linear feet of last-mile fiber construction to the school's Main Distribution Frame, along with recurring transport service and separately itemized non-recurring special construction costs. The selected provider will be responsible for design and engineering, site surveying, route mapping, permitting, construction, conduit and infrastructure components, fiber termination, testing, and as-built documentation. The required installation includes at least six strands of single-mode OS2 fiber, minimum two-inch conduit for underground installation, OTDR and power-meter testing, raw testing files, and GIS/CAD maps. Dark-fiber and self-provisioned proposals must include or itemize the Category 1 electronics needed to light the fiber, including transceivers, optronics, switches, patch panels, racks, connectors, splice trays, and enclosures. Bidders must provide a valid SPIN, demonstrate E-Rate compliance and Green Light status, include a preliminary route map and turnkey bill of materials, and agree to SPI or BEAR payment options.
