Description
Albany County's Department for Aging is seeking a provider to operate its Congregate Meal Program for residents age 60 and older. The scope includes procuring food and supplies; planning, preparing, packaging, and serving nutritious, balanced meals in group settings; developing menus with the County's Registered Dietitian; complying with federal, New York State, and local nutrition, food-safety, accessibility, and sanitation requirements; and maintaining approved kitchens, meal sites, equipment, and transportation as needed. The program currently includes 25 congregate meal sites preapproved by the New York State Office for the Aging. Providers may deliver food services directly or subcontract delivery, and may propose an additional community-needed site, assume an established site that an existing provider can no longer administer, or serve as a subcontracted meal provider through an existing site provider. The separate Home Delivered Meal program is not included in this opportunity and will be solicited separately. The provider must conduct outreach, manage participant registration and reservations, maintain records, provide nutrition education and reporting, and meet the stated staffing, facility, licensing, insurance, reference, and implementation requirements. The initial term is January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2027, with two possible one-year renewals.
