Description
Prisoners' Legal Services of New York, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with an approximately $12 million annual budget, seeks a firm to conduct annual financial statement audits in accordance with U.S. generally accepted auditing standards and applicable nonprofit and grant-related audit requirements. The engagement covers the fiscal years ending September 30, 2026, September 30, 2027, and September 30, 2028, and includes audited financial statements and any required management letter. The selected firm must also prepare and timely file PLS's federal and New York State tax returns for each covered fiscal year. Proposals should describe the firm's nonprofit and government-funded organization experience, New York State agency funding audit experience, proposed engagement team and tax-filing personnel, audit approach and quality controls, virtual or hybrid audit capabilities, technology and security protocols, scheduling, fees, expenses, and overrun policies. Proposers must include three audit references and a peer review report.
