Description
Harris County is seeking a contractor to construct the Friendswood Regional Stormwater Detention Basin for the Harris County Flood Control District under Project ID A500-09-00-E001. The approximately 78-acre project includes clearing and excavation; expansion and deepening of an existing detention basin; concrete pilot channels; two stormwater outfalls with 36-inch HDPE pipes; concrete weirs; grading, fill placement, and drainage swales; stabilized construction access; traffic control; erosion and sediment controls; environmental protection measures; and turf establishment and maintenance. The contractor must furnish all labor, personnel, materials, equipment, and incidentals; comply with prevailing-wage and Harris County minimum-wage requirements; provide certified payrolls; maintain required safety, environmental, and stormwater plans; and comply with protected-species mitigation measures. The contract requires a 5% bid guaranty by bid bond or cashier's check, with performance and payment bonds each equal to 100% of the contract amount after award. The work has a 656-calendar-day completion period, and the contractor must self-perform at least 25% of the work. Electronic submission through Bonfire is preferred, with a hard-copy alternative permitted under the general bid requirements.
