Description
The City of Fredericksburg is soliciting a contractor to replace and construct water and sanitary sewer infrastructure at various locations within the city service area. The work includes installation of PVC water and sanitary sewer mains, valves, fittings, fire hydrants, manholes, water services, sewer laterals, tie-ins, trench safety, traffic control, trench and street repairs, concrete curb and sidewalk restoration, bypass pumping, utility coordination, and related labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals. Required testing includes water-line disinfection and pressure testing, sanitary sewer line testing, manhole vacuum testing, and bacteriological testing for potable water lines. The contract uses unit prices and work orders issued after award, with work quantities determined by available fiscal-year funding. Individual work orders will not be less than $25,000, and the contract may be extended annually for up to five years by mutual agreement. Bidders must submit the prescribed Bid Form with bid security equal to 5% of the maximum bid price; the successful bidder must provide performance and payment bonds and certificates of insurance. A non-mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled, and the solicitation requires sealed delivery of bids by the stated deadline.
