Great Rivers Greenway is requesting proposals for a hospitality-focused Host/Ambassador Program at Kiener Plaza. The selected contractor will provide one on-duty host at a time during anticipated daily coverage from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., with flexible scheduling based on anticipated usership, events, holidays, and adverse weather. Services include visitor hospitality, wayfinding, park monitoring, positive education about park rules, maintenance and hazard reporting, litter collection, restroom and minor sanitation duties, minor graffiti removal, limited snow and ice support, event setup and breakdown, equipment checkout, community engagement, and coordination with city, police, social-service, operations, and downtown partners. The role is safety-adjacent and does not involve direct enforcement. The contractor must provide staffing and supervision plans, scheduling, recruitment and retention, contingency coverage, training, uniforms, radios, phones or tablets, and an electronic reporting system. Proposals must include organizational qualifications and relevant experience, the proposed program approach, staffing and training plans, uniform samples, a sample monthly report, pricing, availability, and any exceptions. Three relevant references are required. Personnel must be at least 18 years old, possess a high school diploma or GED, and hold First Aid/CPR/AED certification or obtain it within the first month. The initial contract is for calendar year 2027, with up to three one-year renewal options for 2028 through 2030.
