Description
St. Louis County is seeking a contractor to perform corrosion treatment and painting of steel components, strengthen steel members in utility structures and maintenance buildings, and design and construct a new engineered metal stair at two Transportation District facilities. The work includes welding, AWS-compliant welder qualifications, weld inspection and testing, surface preparation and coating systems, site safety, permits, and coordination with County representatives and the Architect. Bidders must demonstrate bonding capacity, at least three similar projects valued at $500,000 or more completed within the last five years, public-sector experience, prior prime-contractor experience, and qualified project management and superintendent personnel. The solicitation requires payment and performance bonds, each equal to 100% of the contract amount, and specifies a ten-month agreement duration. The bid package includes a required Welder Qualifications Form for each applicable welder, vendor information and background forms, three references, Secretary of State registration, an affidavit of compliance and work authorization, and an electronic price submission. A $20,000 unknown-conditions allowance must be included in the total bid.
