Description
The North Carolina Department of Transportation seeks a contractor to provide year-round custodial operations and maintenance for a single rest area. Work includes cleaning and sanitizing the service and vending buildings, restrooms, picnic facilities, and grounds; maintaining supplies and equipment; routine plumbing, electrical, and other minor repairs; water and sewer system inspections; trash and recycling collection; and snow and ice response when needed. The contractor must provide staffing and supervision according to specified seasonal schedules, perform background checks on personnel, and meet detailed customer service, safety, reporting, and maintenance requirements. The initial contract period is one year, with up to two additional one-year extensions at the agency’s option. Bidders must submit both a lump-sum price for full staffing and a monthly price for reduced staffing. The solicitation is restricted to firms currently certified in the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s Small Business Enterprise program. Payment and performance bonds are waived, but a performance guarantee is required.
