Description
Edgecombe County is soliciting bids from qualified contractors to clean and paint one complete pod and other defined areas inside its detention center. The scope includes cleaning walls, ceilings, floors, doors, beds, light fixtures, vents, skylights, and windows; preparing surfaces according to product guidelines; and priming and applying at least two finish coats to currently painted surfaces using specified products. The contractor must furnish all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, materials, transportation, licenses, and certifications. Work will require controlled access and special security procedures within the detention facility, with only one half of the pod available at a time. Bidders must attend the mandatory pre-bid meeting, provide required licenses and certifications, submit at least three references, and complete the cost proposal covering the yellow pod, medical area, and segregation area. A certificate of liability insurance showing at least $1,000,000 in general liability coverage and workers' compensation coverage is required within 10 days after award.
