Description
The State seeks a vendor to provide non-shared, for-hire transportation for clients of the Walter B. Jones Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Center on an as-needed basis. Trips may serve destinations such as residences, recovery housing, shelters, opioid treatment and medical clinics, bus stations, and train stations. The vendor must provide and maintain vehicles, qualified drivers, fuel, equipment, and related services; pick up discharged clients within one hour of being contacted; and accommodate varying schedules, including holidays and after-hours requests. The service is not medical transportation. Bidders must provide mileage-based pricing, with separate rates for in-town, in-county, out-of-county, holiday, and after-hours trips. The contract has a one-year initial term, with up to two additional one-year renewal options. The bid requires at least three similar-scope references and specified vendor certifications and forms. The selected vendor must meet applicable insurance, driver background-check, vehicle, and local for-hire registration requirements. Subcontracting requires prior written State consent.
