Description
Lee County is seeking a qualified contractor to perform maintenance dredging of Blind Pass Channel and the connection to Roosevelt Channel through the historic pass and under the bridge between Sanibel and Captiva Island. The work extends from the approximate -10-foot NAVD contour in the Gulf of Mexico into Pine Island Sound and includes removing approximately 120,900 cubic yards of sediment: 68,180 cubic yards seaward of Blind Pass Bridge, 43,680 cubic yards in Wulfert Channel, and 9,040 cubic yards in Roosevelt Channel. Beach-compatible material must be placed on the downdrift beach between reference points R-112 and R-116. The contractor must furnish all labor, services, materials, equipment, tools, consumables, transportation, skills, and incidentals required for the project. The work includes mobilization and demobilization, environmental protection, shorebird protection, turbidity monitoring, and optional channel resweeping. It is subject to environmental protection requirements, permits, technical specifications, a temporary 1,500-meter expanded mixing zone, and grant requirements funded in part or in whole by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Bidders must complete the Bid Invitation, required electronic attributes and bid lines, supplier information, and requested attachments, and submit a signed and dated bid.
