Description
Caltrans is soliciting a contractor to provide all labor, materials, equipment, towing, disposal, dry-docking, and incidental services needed to maintain and repair the Real McCoy II ferry. The scope includes engine, generator, hydraulic, electrical, propulsion, hull, structural, HVAC, lighting, fire-safety, insulation, and deck-apron repairs; abrasive blasting, marine painting, anti-skid surfacing, stenciling, and logo installation; bilge cleaning; waste disposal; and round-trip towing between the ferry terminal and the contractor's dry-dock facility. The contractor must provide construction, blocking, wiring, structural, hydraulic, and Coast Guard documentation; coordinate inspections and approvals needed to obtain a United States Coast Guard Certificate of Inspection; and complete the work within 45 calendar days after taking possession of the ferry. Welders working on specified vessel structures must hold current American Bureau of Shipping certification. Bidders must document at least five years of comparable dry-docking experience and submit the required bid forms, certifications, experience documentation, and bid security when applicable.
