Description
The project requires furnishing and installing approximately 2,121 linear feet of 8-inch C900 PVC water main and appurtenances. Work includes connections to existing 6-inch and 8-inch water mains and a pressure-reducing valve station, replacement of approximately 21 one-inch water services, replacement of two fire hydrant assemblies, installation of valves and air-release assemblies, and abandonment and filling of approximately 2,180 linear feet of existing water main. The contractor must also perform trench excavation, backfill and compaction, traffic control, erosion and water-pollution prevention, pavement and trench restoration, HMA work, utility potholing, testing, flushing, disinfection, and related restoration. The project has a 45-calendar-day completion period from the effective date of the Notice to Proceed. The engineer's estimate is $551,415, excluding Washington State sales tax. A bid guaranty of at least 5% of the total bid is required, and separate payment and performance bonds, each for 100% of the contract award amount plus sales tax, are required after award.
