Description
This is a sources-sought announcement, not a solicitation for offers or a commitment to award a contract. The Department of Veterans Affairs is gathering information from potential contractors able to provide mortuary services for unclaimed or indigent Veterans receiving care through the VA Palo Alto Healthcare System. The draft performance work statement describes services including cremation or interment arrangements, embalming and other preparation of remains, casketing or urn provision, refrigerated storage, and transportation from the care facility to the funeral home and then to a National or VA grant-funded State Veterans Cemetery. The contractor would need appropriate funeral-home and staff licenses, suitable facilities and vehicles, and the ability to respond for removal within one business day and complete burial arrangements within 10 days of notification. The draft describes a base year plus four option years, with the base period beginning December 31, 2026. Interested contractors are asked to email a capability response addressing company status and identifiers, capabilities and relevant experience, similar projects, subcontracting plans, and applicable GSA contract information, along with the attached informational price estimate.
