Description
The Cleveland Metropolitan School District is soliciting bids to renovate two existing art classrooms and two office spaces at John F. Kennedy High School into a state-of-the-art welding laboratory for its Career and Technical Education program. The project supports welding and fabrication instruction, including gas metal arc, shielded metal arc, gas tungsten arc, and flux-cored arc welding. The bid documents identify architectural, structural, site, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, fire-alarm, fire-protection, and technology scopes. Work includes demolition and reconstruction, utility connections, casework, carpentry, drywall, electrical and technology systems, fire-protection modifications, sprinkler work, and related testing and coordination. The contractor must comply with applicable Ohio and local codes, perform required site verification, provide fire-protection working plans and hydraulic calculations where applicable, complete background checks for personnel working on site, and meet the stated insurance, bid-guaranty, certified-payroll, and labor requirements. The solicitation requires three references for projects of equal or larger size, with public-sector experience preferred.
