Description
Muhlenberg Township Authority is soliciting bids for improvements to the Laurel Run Pump Station. The project is divided into three contracts: general construction, electrical construction, and HVAC and plumbing. The work includes replacing three wastewater pumps and motors, installing variable-frequency drives and pump controls, replacing channel grinders, adding emergency bypass piping, replacing a 300-kilowatt natural-gas emergency generator, and removing existing equipment. Additional work includes roof, window, door, hatch, railing, grating, hoist, generator-platform, and other structural improvements; electrical distribution, wiring, lighting, controls, and instrumentation; HVAC, plumbing, natural-gas, ventilation, boiler, water-heating, and emergency eyewash systems; site work, erosion and sediment controls, bypass pumping, testing, startup, commissioning, and operator training. Substantial completion is required within 270 days after the Notice to Proceed, with final completion within 300 days. Bidders must submit a bid security of at least 10 percent of the extended bid amount and comply with Pennsylvania prevailing-wage and public-works employment-verification requirements.
