Description
The Womelsdorf-Robesonia Joint Authority is soliciting a contractor to rehabilitate its existing 1,500,000-gallon, 68-foot-diameter by 56-foot-high welded-steel Furnace Creek water storage tank. The scope includes abrasive blasting and painting of interior and exterior metal surfaces, concrete and foundation joint and crack repairs, and incidental weld repairs. The contractor must coordinate with the contractor performing Contract 26-1 Furnace Creek Tank Metals and accommodate inspections by a retained third-party paint inspector. The coating systems include zinc primer, epoxy stripe and finish coats for submerged interior steel, and zinc primer, epoxy intermediate coats, and a fluoropolymer finish coat for non-submerged exterior steel. The work is subject to Pennsylvania Drinking Water State Revolving Fund requirements, American Iron and Steel requirements, and Build America, Buy America requirements. A 150-day period from Notice to Proceed through Substantial Completion is specified, with performance and payment bonds required after award and a 24-month maintenance bond requirement.
