The Department of Veterans Affairs is conducting market research for a one-time service to inspect and test 247 fire and smoke dampers across ten buildings at the Biloxi VA campus. The contractor must furnish labor, tools, and equipment; locate and access each damper; test operation and closure; inspect linkages, frames, blades, hinges, actuators, latches, and penetrations; lubricate moving parts; clear debris; and replace compromised fusible links with matching links. The work also includes labeling dampers, updating building drawings, documenting pass/fail results and deficiencies, taking at least two photographs per damper, preparing building-specific reports and an inventory/repair list, and delivering red-lined AutoCAD 2000/PDF drawings, photographs, and formal fire damper reports on CD and 11-by-17-inch sheets. Repairs or replacements beyond routine adjustments and fusible-link replacement require written contracting-officer approval before additional work begins. Performance is to occur within 90 days after the notice to proceed, with the stated period of performance from December 31, 2026, through December 30, 2027.
