Description
The California Department of Food and Agriculture is soliciting a contractor to remove the existing vehicle inspection booth and install a new prefabricated inspection booth at its Plant Health and Pest Prevention Services Border Protection Station. The scope includes furnishing the booth; providing labor, materials, tools, equipment, mobilization, and incidentals; off-loading the new booth; temporarily relocating the existing booth; demolishing and removing concrete; removing and installing bollards; constructing a raised concrete pad and anchor system; capping an unused electrical cable; installing and securing the new booth; connecting and testing electrical systems; and disposing of the old booth and excess materials. The booth is approximately 5 feet 8 inches by 10 feet, with front and rear shelves, galvanized steel construction, insulated roofing and walls, electrical service and outlets, lighting, HVAC, and specified glazing. Installation must follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Bidders must hold a California Type A General Engineering contractor’s license, comply with public-works and prevailing-wage requirements, and provide a one-year manufacturer warranty and one-year service warranty. A mandatory walk-through is required, and the contract includes a 3% Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise participation goal. The lowest responsive and responsible bid will be selected.
