The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking capable sources for a non-personal-services requirement covering management and monitoring of pharmaceutical compounded sterile preparations. The contractor must provide qualified environmental-technician services under the supervision of an American Board of Industrial Hygiene or American Board of Industrial Hygiene Certified Industrial Hygienist, perform monthly air and surface sampling for bacterial and fungal contamination, provide sampling media and equipment, and submit samples to an Environmental Microbiology Laboratory Accreditation Program-accredited laboratory for analysis. The work includes 56 samples per month, including air samples, surface contact-plate samples, and control blanks, at the main pharmacy compounding cleanroom suite and a backup segregated compounding area. The contractor must provide microbiological results within 14 days, identify organisms where possible, perform hand-hygiene competency activities twice annually, and designate a quality-control point of contact. The period of performance consists of one base year and four one-year option periods, from January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2031.
