Description
Sarasota County is soliciting a contractor to provide recurring right-of-way mowing and median maintenance services in Zone 6 South Rural. The scope includes maintenance of traffic, litter removal and disposal, mowing, string trimming, mechanical edging, daily cleanup, and maintenance of roadsides, medians, shoulders, ditches, swales, stormwater facilities, ponds, easements, bridge embankments, and other County-maintained assets. The work also includes maintenance of Buchan Airport at 1390 Old Englewood Road, including specialized mowing of its runway and taxiway areas. The primary zone anticipates 13 maintenance cycles per calendar year, while Buchan Airport anticipates 26 cycles per calendar year. The contractor must provide the required labor, equipment, traffic-control devices, work-management-system reporting, and qualified personnel, including employees with Florida right-of-way pest-control, Florida traffic-control, and water-resource training credentials. The initial contract term is three years. Required insurance includes workers' compensation, employers liability, commercial general liability, business automobile liability, and pollution liability for pesticide or herbicide applications. Bidders must provide at least two verifiable references for qualifying mowing services performed within the past seven years.
