Description
The City of Elgin is soliciting sealed bids for renovation of Wing Park. The work includes demolition of existing asphalt paths, concrete, playground surfacing and equipment, and a restroom building, followed by construction of new paths, playgrounds, site furniture, parking, a restroom building, sport-court surfacing, fencing, landscaping, and utility improvements. The successful contractor must provide qualified references for similar projects, furnish a 5% bid bond with the original delivered separately by the deadline, and provide a full-amount contract bond after award. The project requires prevailing-wage compliance, certified payrolls, compliance with the Responsible Bidder's Ordinance and Elgin Residency Ordinance, and submission of all bid documents through the City's electronic bidding portal. Minority business firms are encouraged to participate and to be used as subcontractors where appropriate.
