Description
The City of Geneva, Illinois, is requesting qualifications from engineering consultants to study relocating the City's main fiber optic network connection from its current location to another city facility. The scope includes evaluating needed fiber-system improvements, identifying additions to the existing network, determining required work and materials, preparing an engineer's cost estimate, and recommending and ranking potential relocation sites. The selected consultant must provide a final report detailing improvements, use of existing infrastructure, costs, and recommendations, along with a separate general report that omits sensitive infrastructure maps and uses generic location descriptions. The response must describe the project team, key personnel and resumes, experience on five similar fiber optic or network-planning studies, project approach, and schedule. The SOQ is limited to five pages, and six unbound copies are required. The resulting study is to be completed within three months after execution of the professional services agreement; the design fee will be negotiated with the selected firm.
