Description
This Request for Information seeks market intelligence and industry recommendations for the design and construction of a 45 MWth/5 MWe nuclear microreactor initiative at Eielson Air Force Base. The project would extend heating, power, communications, and water systems to support plant operation and distribute electrical and steam utilities across the installation. The project scope includes approximately 4,400 linear feet of underground and overhead utility corridors, 3,500 linear feet of underground primary distribution line, 6,200 linear feet of overhead primary distribution line, a utility building, and a microgrid control system/SCADA. The questionnaire requests feedback on project risks, environmental and site constraints, construction coordination, delivery methods, contracting vehicles, schedule, budget realism, cost drivers, supply-chain risks, incentives, and evaluation criteria. The stated target budget is approximately $135 million, with an anticipated period of performance from fiscal year 2027 through fiscal year 2031.
