Description
The State of Connecticut, through its Department of Administrative Services Procurement, is soliciting bids for treated and untreated road salt for winter road maintenance. The contract period is from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027. Bids are being managed through the Bonfire platform, with specific deadlines for questions and responses. The specifications detail requirements for both treated and untreated road salt, including chemical compositions, grading, moisture content, and anti-caking agents. Treated salt must meet specific standards for performance enhancers and corrosion reduction, while untreated salt must meet AASHTO M 143 (ASTM D 632) Type 1 requirements. Vendors are required to guarantee product availability and performance, and are responsible for delivery failures. Pricing is to be submitted per ton, delivered F.O.B.
