Description
The Capitol Region Education Council (CREC), acting as the administrative agent for the Regional Education Service Center (RESC) Alliance Food Trust (RAFT), is soliciting proposals for the supply of produce. RAFT is a public purchasing consortium comprised of school districts in north central Connecticut. The successful proposer will contract directly with and invoice each individual member school district. The scope of work includes providing produce that meets USDA meal pattern requirements for various child nutrition programs, including the National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs, After School Snack, and others. Vendors must submit nutritional analysis, CN labels, and signed product formulation statements. Compliance with the Buy American provision, requiring the purchase of domestic agricultural commodities and food products, is mandatory. Vendors must also maintain a written HACCP-based food safety program, and delivery trucks must be refrigerated and maintained in sanitary conditions. All products must meet applicable health, quality, and safety standards. Deliveries will be made to individual school districts, and vendors must be able to accommodate varying delivery needs across rural and urban locations. The contract period is for an initial term of three years with the option for two one-year renewals. Proposals are due electronically by July 9, 2026.
