The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) is soliciting bids for scheduled and emergency repairs to roadway bridge joints and decks, along with associated maintenance work at various MBTA-owned bridge locations. The objective is to preserve and extend the service life of bridge assets through timely repairs and preventative maintenance. Contractors will be responsible for providing all labor, supervision, materials, equipment, and management necessary to complete the work safely and efficiently, coordinating with MBTA personnel and other contractors. Work may involve installation, repair, or replacement of bridge joint systems, milling and paving of bridge decks and approaches, partial or full-depth excavation of concrete decks, and repairs to various bridge appurtenances. Preservation treatments for concrete decks and elements, including epoxy healer-sealer treatment, are also included. The contract term is for one year with three one-year option periods. Bidders must demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of experience in bridge repair and construction on public highway bridges and have successfully completed at least 10 projects in bridge joints, deck repairs, or bridge construction.
