Description
The Town of Middlebury is seeking bids for the supply of sand, stone, loam, and other materials. This is a multi-year contract, with pricing requested for the periods of July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027; July 1, 2027, to June 30, 2028; July 1, 2028, to June 30, 2029; July 1, 2029, to June 30, 2030; and July 1, 2030, to June 30, 2031. The solicitation requires bidders to provide rates per ton for various materials including washed coarse sand, dead sand, 3/4" stone, 1-1/4" stone, 2" stone, bank run gravel, screened topsoil, modified rip-rap, intermediate rip-rap, 1-1/4" process, and fine (3/4") pipe cover. Bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes clearly marked "Sand, Stone, Loam and Other Materials 2026" and addressed to Seth Bernstein, Chief Financial Officer, Town of Middlebury, 1212 Whittemore Road, Middlebury, CT 06762. Proposals must be submitted on the provided forms and include the business address and telephone number. The Town of Middlebury reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, waive any informality, or accept any bid deemed in the best interest of the Town. The successful contractor will be required to provide a Certificate of Insurance naming the Town of Middlebury as an additional insured, and a completed W-9 form. All bids will be considered valid for a period of ninety (90) days from the date and time of opening. The use of subcontractors is prohibited. The Town may consider a bidder's past performance on similar contracts when determining qualifications. Payment will be made within 30 days of receipt of invoice after inspection and acceptance of work.
