Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), VA Medical Center Boston Healthcare System, Bedford, is seeking a contractor to provide commercial waste management and recycling services for its facility. The contract will cover services at the Bedford campus and Crescent House in Lowell, MA. The scope of work includes the collection, recycling, and disposal of various waste streams, with a goal of achieving a 55% or greater recycling rate. The contractor will be responsible for developing a recycling plan, conducting waste audits, and providing tracking and reports. Services include the provision of compactors and dumpsters, removal of solid waste, single-stream recycling, scrap metal, scrap wood, pallets, and construction and demolition debris. Mattress disposal will be provided on a call-in basis. The contract period is for a base period of six months, with four one-year option periods. The estimated value of the contract is $47 million.
