Description
The National Park Service (NPS), Blue Ridge Parkway, is soliciting quotes for the furnishing, mixing, hauling, and delivering of Carriage Trail Gravel Mix and other materials. The scope of work includes providing approximately 2500 tons of aggregate material. The base quantity consists of 1500 tons of Carriage Trail Gravel Mix, 500 tons of Aggregate Base Course (ABC) Roadbase, and 500 tons of #3 clean ballast stone. The Carriage Trail Gravel Mix is specified as a blend of Size 67 Washed Granite, Size 78M Washed Granite, and Washed Screenings/Granite Dust, all with a medium to dark blue/gray color. The ABC Roadbase must meet NCDOT/AASHTO specifications for Aggregate Base Course, and the #3 Clean Ballast Stone is specified as nominal 2"-3" washed, angular crushed stone. All materials must be clean, durable, and free from contamination. Deliveries for the gravel mix are to the Sandy Flat maintenance area in Blowing Rock, NC, while ABC Roadbase and ballast stone are to be delivered to the Old Johns River Road material storage site. The contract will be a Firm Fixed Price with a 100% small business set-aside. The period of performance is from July 30, 2026, to July 29, 2027, with the base quantity to be delivered within 60 calendar days of award. Options for additional material and alternate locations are available for one year.
