Description
The City of Richland, Washington is seeking proposals for comprehensive recycling services. This includes the collection and processing of recyclables from community drop-off locations (30-yard roll-off containers), processing of single-stream co-mingled recyclables collected by the City's residential and commercial curbside programs, and collection and processing of office paper recycling at city-owned facilities. The selected service provider will be responsible for processing a minimum of 250 tons per month, ensuring materials are properly recycled or repurposed, and providing detailed documentation of diversion and market rates. The scope also includes managing drop-box containers at two primary locations, with one transitioning to seasonal operation, and handling materials from an estimated 8,532 residential curbside collection sites and approximately 152 commercial cardboard collection sites. Proposals are due by July 9, 2026. The City estimates the contract cost to be between $225,000 and $325,000 annually, with a base contract term through December 31, 2029, and options for up to seven one-year extensions.
