The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services intends to enter into a single-source contract with W.W. Gay Mechanical Contractor, Inc. for chiller repair services at the Doyle Conner Biological Control Rearing Facility. The work includes labor, materials, and specialized programming to replace two tandem compressors, transducers, and thermistors on the south chiller; recover and test refrigerant; replace drier cores; evacuate and recharge the system; and perform startup and operational testing. The repairs must integrate with the facility’s existing JACE control system. The agency states that W.W. Gay is the only practical source because of its prior experience servicing and programming the proprietary integrated control system and its system-specific programming, commissioning, and startup expertise. The approximate contract amount is $41,000, with an amount up to $60,000.
