Description
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is soliciting a complete, custom-built Jeep-style swamp buggy for use in a south Florida wildlife management area. The vehicle must transport personnel and equipment through mud, rocky or uneven terrain, wetlands, and swamps, and must include a custom steel frame and body, six-person seating, a new or remanufactured powertrain meeting detailed specifications, hydraulic steering, heavy-duty suspension, high-floatation tires, water and burn-fuel tanks, storage compartments, lighting, instrumentation, safety equipment, and marine-standard electrical and wiring systems. All parts, labor, and workmanship must carry at least a one-year warranty, and the completed buggy must be delivered no later than June 30, 2027. The bid also includes eight separately priced alternates: a water-pump system, burn-fuel pump and wand, additional storage, front and rear winches, Bimini canopies, a protective cover, a waterproof radio box, and a mobile vehicle radio. Bidders must demonstrate experience building at least five swamp buggies during the past 10 years, including at least one for a government entity, and submit at least three verifiable similar-project references. Subcontracting is not permitted.
