ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS RFP No 367-OC5489: Orange County Government Solar Installation for Orange County Solid Waste Admin, Whitted Human Services, and Sportsplex Fieldhouse. Sealed proposals will be received until 2:00 P.M. on October 22, 2026, in the office of Orange County Finance, Administrative Services, 131 W. Margaret Lane, Suite 300, Hillsborough, North Carolina 27278, Attn: Orange County Purchasing for the construction/renovation of the following: Orange County Solar Installation for Orange County Solid Waste Admin, Whitted Human Services, and Sportsplex Fieldhouse. Bids will be publicly opened and read at 131 W. Margaret Lane, Conference Room 302, Hillsborough, NC 27278, on October 22, 2026. Scope of Work: The project includes providing and installing photovoltaic systems at the Orange County Solid Waste Administration Building, Richard E. Whitted Human Services, and the Sportsplex Fieldhouse. Contractors shall be responsible for the complete design, procurement, installation, startup, and commissioning of the PV System. Bids will be received for a Single Prime Contract. All proposals shall be lump sum per location. A mandatory Pre-Bid meeting will be held for bidders on October 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., in the Board of County Commissioners Meeting Room at the Richard E. Whitted Building, 300 W. Tryon Street, Hillsborough, NC 27278, located on the 2nd Floor. Following the pre-bid meeting, a site tour will be hosted for the other facilities. The order of the tour will be as follows: Richard E. Whitted, Orange County Sportsplex, then Orange County Solid Waste Administration. After the meeting and initial tours, Bidders may visit the site by appointment only. Interested subcontractors and suppliers are strongly encouraged to attend.
