Description
The University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking a primary fresh produce contractor, with the option to award a secondary vendor, to furnish processed fruits and vegetables, bulk produce, fresh herbs, edible flowers, and other miscellaneous food items. The market basket includes 101 processed and whole produce items, with detailed requirements for product grades, varieties, pack sizes, processing, packaging, labeling, traceability, food safety, substitutions, product availability, and Wisconsin-grown sourcing. The University does not guarantee specific quantities or dollar purchases. The contractor must provide six-day-per-week delivery, Monday through Saturday, to multiple University Housing, Wisconsin Union, and other campus locations; maintain required delivery windows, refrigerated and sanitary transportation, order separation by unit and location, and same-day replacement of rejected, shorted, or mis-picked products. Proposers must describe their company, food-safety and recall programs, processing facilities, product lists, local sourcing, ordering systems, delivery routes, invoicing capabilities, and cost-plus markup. The response must include a completed requirements response, market basket cost proposal, vendor information, three comparable client references, applicable certifications and acknowledgments, proprietary-information form if applicable, and supporting materials such as a sample label, product list, sample invoice, and required food-safety documentation.
