Description
The Utah State Board of Education seeks qualified small local beef and tree fruit producers for cooperative contracts serving Utah school food authorities. Available categories are raw ground beef in 10-pound vacuum-sealed chubs; raw ground beef in 2.8-ounce pre-formed patties packed in 40-pound cases; fresh whole apples, peaches, pears, or cherries; frozen sliced or diced tree fruit; and dried tree fruit in single-serve or bulk packaging. Offerors may propose for one, multiple, or all categories, and multiple awards may be made by category. Products must satisfy applicable federal or state inspection requirements and location restrictions, including production within 400 miles of Logan, Blanding, or St. George, as applicable. Contractors must demonstrate production, processing, packaging, storage, distribution, and delivery capabilities; provide required food-safety, domestic-origin, product formulation, CN-label, and facility documentation when applicable; and coordinate directly with ordering school food authorities. The resulting cooperative contracts will have a one-year term, with no guaranteed purchase volume or contract value. Delivery may be subcontracted, but the contractor remains responsible until delivery and acceptance.
