Description
Washington County, Maryland, is soliciting bids for replacement of the existing approximately 102,768-square-foot EPDM roof at 540 Western Maryland Parkway in Hagerstown. The work includes removal of the existing membrane; installation of a true 80-mil, mechanically attached PVC membrane; an additional 1-inch layer of polyisocyanurate insulation; a 1/2-inch high-density cover board providing a minimum overall R-30 insulation value; roof flashings; a continuous PVC walkway; replacement of wall copings; treated blocking; and removal and disposal of abandoned rooftop mechanical, electrical, and vent components. Existing skylights are to be removed and infilled with matching metal decking. Bidders must be authorized roofing applicators trained by Sika Corporation and must provide specified bid submittals, samples, certifications, shop drawings, safety data sheets, warranties, and other documentation. The project is classified as Maryland SHA Cost Group Letter Class C, with an indicated construction value range of $500,001 to $1,000,000. A five-year applicator workmanship warranty and a 30-year Sika system warranty are specified. The successful contractor must provide a bid security equal to 5% of the total bid and, after award, full-amount performance and labor-and-material payment bonds.
