Description
The City of Beaverton is soliciting bids for replacement of approximately 1,060 linear feet of an existing 8-inch cast-iron water main along Erickson Avenue between 2nd Street and 5th Street. The work includes approximately 1,020 linear feet of 12-inch ductile iron pipe and 40 linear feet of 8-inch ductile iron pipe, connections to the existing system, one fire hydrant assembly, two water services, valves, fittings, appurtenances, pressure testing, flushing, disinfection, and bacteriological testing. The contractor must also perform excavation, trench backfill, controlled low-strength material placement, asphalt trench resurfacing, landscape and concrete restoration, erosion and sediment control, traffic control, utility coordination, and maintenance of access to residences and Beaverton High School during construction. The specifications require domestic-manufactured materials, prevailing-wage compliance, a 10% bid guaranty, performance and payment bonds at 100% of the contract amount, and compliance with the City's Good Faith Effort Program for COBID-certified subcontracting opportunities. The estimated project cost is approximately $300,000 to $400,000.
