Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is conducting market research for recurring certification and testing services supporting sterile compounding facilities. The scope includes certification of primary and secondary engineering controls, including biological safety cabinets, laminar airflow workstations, cleanrooms, buffer rooms, anterooms, hazardous-drug storage areas, and pass-through chambers, in accordance with USP Chapters <797> and <800>, applicable CETA guides, IEST standards, and NSF/ANSI 49. The contractor must perform airflow, HEPA-filter integrity, particle-count, smoke-pattern, pressure, temperature, humidity, viable and non-viable environmental, hazardous-drug residue, and personnel competency testing. Personnel services include gloved fingertip and thumb sampling, media-fill testing, hazardous-drug manipulation assessments, and cleaning and disinfection competency assessments. Services require appropriately certified CETA/CNBT cleanroom professionals, NSF-accredited biosafety cabinet field certifiers, and an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited environmental microbiology laboratory. The anticipated structure is firm-fixed-price with a 12-month base period and four 12-month option periods beginning upon contract signature.
