Description
The City of Wichita is soliciting bids for a continuing, comprehensive maintenance program covering elevators, dumbwaiters, wheelchair lifts, escalators, and similar vertical-transportation equipment across 29 groups of municipal, cultural, utility, parking, fire, police, transit, and airport facilities. The contractor must furnish all labor, materials, tools, supervision, preventive maintenance, repairs, component replacement, call-back service, inspections, code-required testing, annual evaluations, five-year load testing, documentation, and emergency response necessary to keep the equipment in first-class operating condition and compliant with the latest ANSI/ASME A17.1 requirements. Maintenance is generally required monthly, with additional quarterly, semiannual, annual, and three-year procedures specified for applicable equipment. The contractor must respond to non-entrapment service calls within four hours, maintain qualified and directly employed personnel, demonstrate at least three years of comparable experience, maintain an operational facility within a 30-minute normal travel-time radius of Wichita city limits, and provide normal, after-hours, and holiday mechanic and crew rates. Airport personnel must satisfy a 10-year background check and fingerprinting requirement for badging. The contract is for one year with four one-year renewal options by mutual agreement.
