Description
The City of Akron is conducting an exploratory Request for Information to identify contractors capable of mowing and clearing public and privately owned parcels. The anticipated work includes mowing high weeds and grass; trimming around structures, curbs, sidewalks, trees, fences, hydrants, poles, and signs; clearing underbrush and roadside vegetation up to 10 feet from traveled road edges; removing and properly disposing of cuttings, debris, and litter; and performing the work safely without damaging property or utilities. Contractors would provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and safety gear. Respondents are asked to describe their company, service areas, capabilities, staffing and capacity, relevant equipment, similar-project references, insurance coverage, operational approach, safety practices, and experience using GIS-based public asset management systems to receive and close assignments and upload before-and-after photographs. This RFI is for market research only, is not a request for pricing, and does not commit the City to issuing a solicitation or making an award. Insurance certificates and other administrative requirements are not required at the RFI stage.
