Description
The University of Akron is seeking professional consulting services to develop a focused, data-driven plan for improving main-campus operational efficiency. The work includes assessing utilization of classrooms, laboratory classrooms, research laboratories, offices, student-support spaces, and auxiliary spaces against appropriate national and local benchmarks, accepted guidelines, employee counts, and expected enrollment ranges. The selected consultant must provide recommendations for potential real estate sales, consolidation of campus units, and relocation strategies that improve space utilization while maintaining needed services. The scope specifically requires evaluation of the Goodyear Building, Auburn Science and Engineering Center, Akron Engineering Research Center, Knight Chemical Laboratory, Polymer Engineering Academic Center, Whitby Hall, and Olson Research Laboratory, with particular attention to the sciences and existing facility age and condition. Value-added deliverables include schematic-level representations of recommended unit consolidations on floor-plan layouts. Proposers must provide a detailed company proposal, a lump-sum fee, hourly rates for key personnel, anticipated reimbursable expenses, and any additional discounts or payment terms. Selected respondents may be invited to a one-hour presentation covering firm capabilities, prior higher-education studies, and the anticipated approach.
