Description
The Regional Municipality of Niagara is soliciting bids from mechanical contractors for upgrades at the Fort Erie Childcare, a single-level approximately 3,500-square-foot building. The work includes replacing the existing rooftop unit with a new 8-ton heat pump, supplying and installing bypass boxes and electric duct heaters, modifying ductwork, investigating and patching leaking supply-air ducts, and reinforcing the roof to support the heavier unit. The successful bidder must also perform Type 2 asbestos abatement in the work area based on the designated substance survey. Abatement work must be completed outside the childcare center's normal operating hours. This tender is limited to successful roster-listed contractors in Category 2, Mechanical Contractors, under Contract 2024-RFSQ-203.
