Description
The City of Buffalo Department of Public Works, Buildings Division, is soliciting professional architectural, interior design, and historic preservation services for the Buffalo City Court Building. The selected consultant will evaluate current and future operational needs; develop a comprehensive program of spaces, utilization analysis, adjacency diagrams, block plans, and space-planning solutions consistent with New York State Office of Court Administration Facilities Standards; and assess life safety, security, accessibility, sustainability, energy performance, building systems, envelope improvements, and site enhancements. The consultant must develop three conceptual renovation alternatives with rough-order-of-magnitude cost estimates, a phasing plan for maintaining court operations in an occupied building, swing-space and move-management recommendations, capital implementation strategies, and potential funding opportunities. Deliverables include a design report, conceptual plans and visualizations, meeting documentation, cost estimates, and presentations to City, court, preservation, county, and public stakeholders. Proposals are limited to 30 pages for the qualifications response, with a separate fee proposal using the required fee and rates schedules. The contract term is one year, and the stated participation goals are 20% MBE and 5% WBE.
