Description
The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, through its Alaska Community Transit Office, is offering SFY 2028 Human Services Transportation Grant funding to support transportation services for seniors, individuals with disabilities, and Alaska Mental Health Trust beneficiaries when public transportation is unavailable, insufficient, or inappropriate. Eligible projects include operating activities, capital purchases, and purchased transportation services provided by a third-party vendor rather than operated by the applicant. Applicants must have an approved Intent to Apply, participate in an up-to-date coordinated public transit-human services transportation plan, and satisfy the stated nonprofit or public-body eligibility requirements. The estimated total available funding is $4,829,020, consisting of $1,393,558 in Federal Transit Administration Section 5310 funds and $3,435,462 in Alaska Mental Health Trust funds. Required application materials include the completed application in BlackCat, an approved Intent to Apply, a Limited Waiver of Sovereign Immunity if applicable, a ranked priority-of-projects list, and a local governing-body resolution approving the priority list and any new or updated coordinated plan.
