Description
The Department of the Air Force is conducting market research for on-call emergency and scheduled maintenance and repair services for six coal-fired high-pressure power boilers and their support systems at a central heat and power plant. The scope includes emergency on-site response within 24 hours, inspection and a detailed Letter of Recommended Repair within one business day, and repairs to boiler tubes, headers, drums, piping, valves, and related components. Repairs may include welding, machining, tube rolling, reshaping, and replacement of components. Work beyond the initial inspection requires written Contracting Officer authorization and a Notice to Proceed. Respondents must demonstrate an active ASME “R” stamp, current ASME Section IX welding qualifications for personnel performing welding and repair work, and at least five years of verifiable experience. Completed repairs must be inspected and accepted by a certified Alaska boiler inspector. The contractor supplies all labor, materials, tools, and equipment, and must comply with installation access and hazardous-material approval requirements. This is a Sources Sought notice for market research, not a solicitation for contract award.
