PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The City of Seattle seeks Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from qualified firms to provide Design-Build (DB) Services for the Gorge Powerhouse Crane Replacement Design-Build Project (Project). The Project will consist of design, demolition, construction, and commissioning services for the replacement of two overhead bridge cranes, rated at 150T each. Description
The City of Seattle is requesting Statements of Qualifications from qualified design-build teams for the Gorge Powerhouse Crane Replacement Project. The scope includes design, fabrication, demolition and removal of the two existing overhead bridge cranes, procurement and installation of a new single or dual bridge-crane system, electrical and control systems, testing, commissioning, training, and related environmental, historic-preservation, safety, and hazardous-materials work. The replacement system must support the Gorge Powerhouse's operational requirements, including main crane capacity options of 275 tons for a single crane or 150 tons per crane for a dual-crane system, auxiliary hoists, remote controls, precision movement, and integrated safety systems. The current engineer's estimate is $12,500,000. The initial qualification phase requires a Statement of Qualifications, including a company questionnaire, project-experience and key-personnel forms, proof of legal name, proof of insurance and bonding capacity, and applicable joint-venture documentation. The attached draft second-phase RFP describes a subsequent proposal process for shortlisted firms, including technical, health and safety, underutilized-business, and price-proposal materials.
